The Local Radio Company
Web Development Manager (July 2008 - Present)
Web Designer (Oct 2007 - July 2008)
Currently as The Local Radio Company's Web Development Manager, my main responsibility lies with the creation of commercial microsites for the group’s 20 local radio stations across the UK, from Falkirk in Scotland to the Isle of Wight and from Hastings to Yeovil.
All microsites begin with a written brief, from which the site's development is meticulously worked out in co-ordination with the sales executives and clients to create a high quality, bespoke, online campaign. It is essential to have a good working relationship with other team members to ensure that the clients get the results they desire.
I meet regularly liaise with the stations’ sales teams to discuss current and proactive ideas in order to maximise online campaigns for our clients. I am always available to provide the group's website editors with technical information and advice on how to improve the content and maintain the listeners’ interest in all our websites. Feedback from the majority of clients tends to be that we have exceeded their expectations.
Fireworks, Photoshop and Dreamweaver are the three main software packages I use. Flash, Illustrator and Audition are also used on a regular basis. Many of the microsites I create require additional elements such as data capture, downloadable vouchers, audio and video streaming and Flash locator maps. All my sites are built to W3C standards (valid html and CSS).
Additional responsibilities include the creation of other forms of online advertising such as MPUs, banners, and skyscrapers. I am experienced in using Content Management Systems, and was involved in writing the brief for the group’s brand new CMS. Recently, I have redesigned all of the 28 stations’ logos and stationary.
